Blood leaves arteries and goes to capillaries which allow oxygen diffusion. Then blood goes to veins to head back to the heart. Blood is made up on cells, proteis, glucose, hormones, organic&inorganic substances, and enzymes. Blood transports oxygen and co2 to and from the lungs. Transports waste to the kidneys, transports hormones for commuication, and transports anti-bodies for immunity. Also regulates body temps and ph. blood composition liquid part of blood is called plasma. made up of water, proteins, and electrolyes. When you bleed, you bleed the liquid portion with the red blood cells. Red blood cells - erythrocytes. carries co2 away from the cells. most abundant cells, makes up. Mature rbc"s dont have a nucleus or ribosome. no dna in rbcs. White blood cells : maintain their nucleus, contain dna. when testing for dna in blood, youre looking at wbcs. leucocytes. Platelets: aid in blood clotting, causes blood to coagulate to heal.
