Use it to perform their consistent, known, job specific job function. Easy to manage in numbers of users, since the it role is well defined. Call centers operators, insurance claim representatives, accounting clerks, our labs for class: knowledge worker . Use it to create knowledge and solve problems. Challenging to manage in quantity users since each user has unique needs. Refers to how you know if a computer is in a good, known state (functioning) Entropy if you give someone administrative capabilities, you"re in a state of unknown. You don"t know what people did to the computer. Documented manual processes are less error prone, but still time consuming: unattended. Automating the manual process (writing a tool to automate the os) This is what you wanna use takes out human error.
