Document Summary

The napoleon era, 1799-1815 | part ii: the napoleon conqueror. Reorganization of europe: united all of europe into one empire (which hadn"t been done, redrew political/geographic borders since ancient rome) Sparked nationalism: in france, but mostly in other nations, as other nations get conquered, people begin realizing their, copy french nationalism national consciousness and feeling patriotic. Wanted to bring peace to europe (austria, britain rejected his peace orders) 1800 napoleon went to war against the austrians (defeated at battle of marengo) shows his military prowess. After 1800, napoleon really is only dealing with britain. Treaty of amiens 1802 peace with britain and france: france had been in war for ten years; the people were happy to end war. 1801-1805: pretty much a time of peace, minus what was happening with britain.
