Essentially, an urban stroller/walker who walks about and watches the life and happenings around him but doesn"t necessarily partake. This is an early example of voyeurism: this painting is an early example of the erotic being a part of who people are. Many of his other paintings are similar, or incorporate voyeurism: this work is an etching.
