Ideological: cultural, language and films, us no longer sought to go home, change from isolationism to internationalism. International organization - stabilize internal system and regulate world economy: un - imf - world bank- nato, great power vacuum, great britain too weak, rivals exhausted. Truman doctrine - did not apply even to all of europe: western europe was too important to be under control of soviets, military intervention to prevent western europe from falling under control for a hostile power. These factors all go towards building the expansion of us role - over commitment.
