Transformational leadership is a perspective of leadership that not only manages people and resources but also seeks to elevate the group (organization) to a higher moral level: transformational leaders are characterized by. A clear vision for the future of the organization. Having self-discernment coupled with positive self-regard: transformational leadership differs from transactional leadership. Transactional leadership is the exchange of something of value the leader possess or controls that the follower wants in return for his/her services: type 2 transactional leadership. Institutionalizing change: 4 i"s in transformational leadership. Idea of combining leadership theories is called full range leadership theory: authority. Power to influence or command thought, opinion or behavior. Conferred power to perform service: implicit leadership theories. Leadership in part resided in the minds of followers. Therefore, it is important to understand the perception of leadership in the study of leadership: full range leadership theory (frl) Transformational leadership + transactional leadership + implicit leadership = frl.
