Judge noticed there was no case to compare this too. Did not want to be too lenient with the sentence. Judge wanted to make a statement and set an example for this crime: how do you compare a white collar crime sentenced to 20 years, when murderers get. 30 years in prison: dwight jackson- in prison for a bank robbery. Same day he gets released, he robs another bank with a gun. Was sentenced to a max life in prison, tried to appeal it. Was 35 years old at time of offense, if he gets a 20-30 year sentence, he will be much older, and much more unlikely to commit the crime. Should consider the length of the sentence to the age of the defendant. Tuesday, february 6, 2018: jayson williams case- nets basketball player that killed his limo driver, while being intoxicated, after accidentally killing him he thought the gun was not loaded.
