The water is cohesive so each water drop sticks. As each water drop comes in the plant grows creating a never ending supply of water droplets. Sun rises ->photosynthesis occurs -> stomata open -> transpiration. Cohesion : h2o sticks to self with h-bonds. Adhesion : h2o sticks to other things with h-bonds. Allows unbroken water column to form and adhere to xylem walls. Phloem (all over the plant) - sugar and hormones around plant.
