Looked at patterns of sleep and more so the underlying meaning of dreams. It is our memory system that stores images and these thoughts in different areas of the brain. Depressants: reduce the neural activity, slow body functions down, loose reaction time include alcohol (shrink your brain), barbiturates (depresses cns and will also reduce anxiety, but impairs judgments), opiates: reduce the tunnels for pain closes (cid:862)gate(cid:863), reduces anxiety. Stimulants: amphetamines, cocaine, caffeine, nicotine; speed up cns, addictive drugs, and they are a mood changer. Hallucinates: marijuana, lsd, harbiturates; very powerful and makes people see things that are(cid:374)"t there.
