Three main descriptive methods: case study: an in-depth analysis of the behavior of one person or a small number of people. Ways to use this method: interviews, questionnaires, personality inventories, medical record review, cognitive tests, neuropsychological assume, brain imaging. Better applicability to a general population, lab setting prevents phenomenon for occurring. When we want to study more people: surveys: method in which participants are asked the same question. Fast and inexpensive method of data collection, good for large amount of info from many people.
