Erogenous zone- area of the body that where touch or other stimulation increases or causes sexual arousal: a study asked men and women to identify areas of the body that when touched are sexually arousing. Women: neck, breast, genitals, butt, men, genitals, butt (less sensitive than in females, the entire body is an erogenous zone to varying degrees and sensitivities. Introitus is the opening of the vagina: hymen covers the introitus (partially, significance of presence or absence of hymen many cultures, but not all (virgin v. sexually active) Adventitial layer- tough elastic outer area: g-spot, also, part of the internal organ, spot of heightened sensitivity, on front wall of the vagina. Involuntary contractions during labor: plays a role in the shedding of the endometrium during menstruation menstrual cramps, endometrium -inner lining, 2 functions, transportation of sperm up into reproductive tract into the fertilization site.
