SFII-UF 102 Lecture Notes - Lecture 6: Age 13, 3 Women, Nanny
Document Summary
Once this happens, men will be willing to talk to them and have friendships with them, and marriage will change. Marriages will be more equal and have the same roles in the family, doing everything together. This is becoming more popular now, but the divorce rate is now 50% because we have great expectations for modern marriages whereas in traditional marriages, you didn"t have to talk to each other, and divorce rates were 10%. Also, the roles need to be worked out in friendship marriages. When modern marriage works, it is better than a tradition marriage, but where it doesn"t work, you become enemies. Today, there are still gender differences between what we major in in school. Women tend to focus more on arts, humanities, social work, and nursing, whereas men tend to do science, business, economics, medicine, math, and engineering. Education is still not perfectly equal, but we"re getting there.
