His popularity allowed him to establish his own political organization called the national union for justice. He was thought to have one of the largest audiences in the country through his radio shows. However, as years passed, coughlin spoke about fascism and anti-semitism. However, in general, coughlin was a powerful speaker during the 1930s. He proposed new money reforms and he had a large audience that followed him: huey long. Long had risen to power and many claimed that he was a dictator. Huey long made violent attacks on oil companies, banks, and utilities.
