It was one of the ships that had runaway jews. However, the jews in the ship were thrown back to europe when no countries in the western hemisphere would take in the jews. Even the united states prevented the jews from coming in. No country took the ship except britain, france, holland, and belgium. It was sad though because all the countries except great britain were under control by the nazis. So in general, the st. louis pretty much showed that even though the jews were escaping, not a lot of the countries weren"t supporting them as of yet: office of price administration. The office of price administration was established because the united states was worried about inflation. The anti-inflation act pretty much gave opa to freeze/stop agricultural salaries, wages, and etc. in the country. Inflation was a less problem for the united states.
