I have come to the conclusion that music and commercial space are intertwined. The first store we went to was barnes and noble. Their products include books, whether it be subconsciously done or consciously done. The overall vibe that i received was that the music found in each store upholds feelings of the prudential center, rather than for each individual place. magazines, music, games, ebooks, art, and random other things. I got that their brand/image associations were homey and welcoming, yet also modern and individualistic. Everything is marked separately and there are various sections, just like there are various types of people. It was welcoming to all types of people and interests. Even kids had some sections including toys and dvds. The coffee shop/caf vibe i was expecting ended up being true due to an actual caf in the store. Everything was kind of overwhelming, even the music.
