Document Summary

Determinism- if specify everything at a given moment, the laws of nature will tell you what everything will be like at the next moment, tell you every further state of the system. Hard determinism- we have no free will because determinism is true. Compatibilism- free will is compatible with determinism and with indeterminism (denial of determinism) If someone wants to get a pizza they will bc they desire to. It is only when there are external constraints that we no longer have free will because we are unable to get the pizza. You can certainly have desires that you go for but someone has caused you to have them so are they necessarily yours. Bc compatibilists come up with a way that you are still morally responsible even though the action was determined ex) what if scientist controlling what you do o o o. Libertarianism- we have free will because indeterminism is true.
