Mythology is a collection of myths, that follow under a certain person or subject. The odyssey is a collection of tales and short stories about a hero named odysseus. Odysseus sets out on a journey home, after winning the trojan war. A trip that should only take 2 weeks, took 20 years. the story starts after he won, and when he is heading home. 10 year war filled with death, destruction, and turmoil. He fought and won the war, then fought his way through many of the problems he encountered. He also fought the suitors that had invaded his home, and tried to take his wife. 2 of the major gods are against him, and fate seems to be angry sometimes as well. He has many flaws, natural of self-inflicted, that mold the course of his journey, and the story is based on a series of flashbacks. The iliad is the foundation for the odyssey.
