December of 1620- mayflower sailed to the colony of plymouth: plymouth was once a native tribe called patuxet , which was destroyed by disease. Massasoit (wampanoag chief) used his interpreters to make a treaty with the pilgrims . Thanksgiving of 1621- considered the pilgrim"s first thanksgiving : not the first thanksgiving in history, the wampanoag people and pilgrims made it an annual feast. Massasoit died, and his son, king phillip came to power in 1662.
