Example: medical technology improvements benefit people who can pay for it but people who can"t pay for it suffer from diseases. Example: immigration has led to americans believing their jobs are being stolen. Example: international trade agreements are perceived to destroy jobs by some. +winner: ford produces more cheaply in other countries than the united states which lets them stay in business. Winners obviously don"t want to give up their benefits. Politics is about solving problems caused by social change. Politics, who gets what, why and how? by casswell. Casswell says politics is about the distribution of resources/ Part of politics is about justifying the why. +this is where ideology comes in to play. Ideology is meant to tell us why things go the way they do. Key to the marketplace is competition and that is supposed to produce better and cheaper products. Companies adopt features and practices of the leading companies.
