Eating disorders-anorexia nervosa, bulimia nervosa, binge eating disorders, (childhood disorders: distorted body image, treatment and long-term consequences-physical, mental, even death, restriction leading to significantly low body weight. Anorexia-intense fear of gaining weight/being fat , or behavior that interferes. Bulimia- condition in which a person develops a cycle of binging or overeating. Binge-eating- involves uncontrolled binge eating, but doesn"t do anything to get rid enormous amounts of food at one sitting and then using unhealthy methods to avoid weight gain. Ex: excessive exercise, laxative use, self-induced vomiting. with weight gain of food. Dissociative disorders-characterized by disruption and/or discontinuity in the normal integration of: Dissociative fugue- forgets identity and moves to new location. Dsm-5 criteria- disruption of identity, characterized by two or more distinct personality traits. Dsm-5 personality disorders: person adopts a persistent, rigid, and maladaptive pattern of behavior that interferes with social interactions. Ex: paranoid, schizotype, antisocial, borderline, histrionic, narcissistic, avoidant, obsessive-complulsive, other specified personality disorder.
