Mycenae: schliemann looks for this city small, big walls, graves, entrance (gate protected by lions) Sir arthur evans: profession, oxford curious about items found by schliemann. City (no walls, palace complex, lots of rooms & stairway, passageway) Traveled to russia, then cali for gold rush made a store & becomes rich. Ppl were not convinced: got some gold from black market. Evans: objects from island of crete (home of king who created labyrinth) Bulls were everywhere (bulls must be important) Found treasure: don"t know what they say. Both men discovered civilizations that ppl didn"t: minoan clay tablets w/ writing think real.
