Sterile technique: aseptic/sterile technique is a way to minimize contaminating your cultures and experiments, the closer you can stay to the flame, the better. Open briefly only as needed: never touch your gloved hands, pipets, tips, etc. to any surface, try not to breathe or talk into your opened plates, tips, etc.
