Howden report 1967 changed how we see children. Play was significant, learn through people and the environment the lack of understanding from practitioners. How we welcome children into our settings. Extend the age group to 0-25 as young adults still need support. This and eyfs is a social construction. We recognise the child first not the things around them. Social model of inclusion = we see the person before anything else. Medical model = focus more on the disability that is limiting the child. International can be things you already know but don"t act upon. Bruner = interaction, how children play and interpret things that are provided. (bruner, 1966) Children use language a lot in their play, placed significance on their first language. Once they understand their own language it is easier to understand english. Child as unique individuals, importance on the environment on the child.
