Once the air goes through all these tunnels, air is being warmed, cleaned, and moistened. Vestibule (just above nostrils: lined with skin containing sebaceous and sweat glands and nose hairs, filters large particles. Underlying connective tissue lamina propria: mucous cells secrete mucous, serous cells secrete watery fluid with digestive enzymes. Together, all these produce a quart a day: dead junk is swallowed. 3- scroll like structures: superior concha, middle concha. Help the conchae assist in warming, moistening, and cleaning air.
