Document Summary

Crisis of identity vs. identity confusion: the adolescent or young adult wither develops an identity or experiences an incomplete and sometimes incoherent sense of self. If a person is able to navigate through a variety of personal, occupational, sexual, and ideological choices, then this crisis can be resolved. Integration of various aspects of the self into a coherent whole that is stable over time and across events. An incomplete and sometimes incoherent sense of self. This may result in the adolescent feeling lost, isolated, and depressed. Premature commitment to an identity without adequate consideration of other options. Do not spend much time considering other options or taking time to find out who they truly are: negative identity. Identity that stands in opposition to what is valued by people around the adolescents. Parents want you to do something, so you do the complete opposite of what they want you to do just to spite them.
