I never considered myself to be college bound so when i graduated high school i was unsure where my life was headed. My family encouraged me to apply for kauai community. College to take some time to plan out my future. I made close connections with a lot of the faculty and staff due to the small classroom sizes and the welcoming community. One professor in particular, cheryl fujii, became my mentor. She was one of the business department faculty members. She helped me realize that i had been approaching my education completely wrong. It took me three years which to some people may be unconventional but i"m taking my time with my education because i want to be sure of my decisions. I transferred to uh manoa in fall of 2019 because i learned all i can at kcc and it was time to move on.
