In consideration of the changes that have taken place in american society so far as the sexual division of labor is concerned, elaborate on the cultural construction of kinship discussing for example what your grandmothers did and your mothers. Consider why you think women chose these occupations rather than the traditional ones, and also what traditional women"s occupations are now chosen by men. Sexual division of labor is concerned with the distribution of jobs between males and females. Stereotypically women are associated with care taking because women are considered the homemaker. This has changed over centuries due to education, cultural evolution, etc. I don"t think my grandmother ever went to college. She graduated highschool and got a job in an office doing administrative work for her uncle. She then met my grandfather through a hiking club and they bought a farm, had a family and she became a housewife.
