One of martin luther king"s most acknowledged effort in his role as a voucher for civil rights is the speech he delivered at the lincoln memorial. The "i have a dream" speech was delivered to almost 250,000 supporters and is hailed as the defining point of the american civil rights movment. King would go on to win the nobel prize for supporting the fight against racismthe following year. King"s speech called for an end of racism in the united states of america. King asked his listeners, as he spoke from the steps of the lincoln memorial to remember the time when the emancipation. Proclamation was signed in 1963 by president lincoln. This proclamation freed all slaves and in the process gave them hope of escaping from their misery. The proclamation also entitled the negro to equal rights, and job oppurtunities.
