Document Summary
November 1, 2016 policy lessons for national leaders class thirteen. Leaders should have a vision - an aspirational vision of a country that works for the people of the country. To endure in the long run, a vision has to be inclusive: it has to be accepted by most of the population. The only thing worse than having no vision is having a bad vision - a vision that harms specific groups or the people as a whole. This is wrong, and it is not viable in the long run. Leaders must help their countries understand their national histories - as honestly and comprehensively as possible. In multiethnic countries, groups need to understand their intertwined histories. Groups need to understand how they are seen by others. It is difficult for groups to acknowledge their one mistakes and crimes, but it is one of the keys to true conflict resolution. Number 8: keep thing about the future.
