*stanislav petrov made a decision that is the reason we are all alive* Internationalized civil war- civil wars with internationalized powers involved: terrorism, organized crime. A lot less organized violence today than any time in history. What happened: colonial war ended because the european empires collapsed. Rise of nationalism- people thought themselves as collective citizens. American and soviet pressure- two countries that had empires (pretended they did(cid:374)"t) put lots of pressure. Racism meant that extending citizenship was not an option france tried it in. Extend full citizenship and rights and have a multinational democracy. May(cid:271)e (cid:374)u(cid:373)(cid:271)ers are(cid:374)"t (cid:272)orre(cid:272)t? (france failed as stated above) Weapons have now become more accurate and medical technology and trauma medicine has become a lot better. This means that wars could be just as intense but less civilians are dying (not in crossfire because the weapons have better targets) Nuclear weapons: the cost is way too high.
