Document Summary

What are moore"s beliefs about an external world? . Here is one hand, and here is another hand. (premise) Since we know hands exist and they are external objects, some physical objects exist. (conclusion) What are the conditions for a rigorous proof: the premise needs to be different from the conclusion. Moore"s conclusion states hands exist; his premise is more specific of the hands: know that the premise is true, do not just believe it, the conclusion follows from the premise. What are other philosopher"s beliefs on the external world? . Proved that he exists, and he has absolute certainty that there are external objects. Assume that a real table is nothing but sense-data. If a tablecloth completely covers the table, and if it were merely sense-data, then the table would cease to exist when hidden. The table cannot be a mere collection of sense-data. Epistemology: the study of knowledge and justified beliefs.
