Normandy was originally a colony of the vikings: but as they settled, adopted a lot of the frank"s culture. King william of normandy: put down the nobles when they revolted, very strong and smart. Tablet of bayeux: a long linen piece embroidered with woolen threads, tells the story from the norman point of view about what occurred during the battles. Mantles: various lengths. if tunic is longer, probably a longer mantle, brooch at center or on the side. Tunic: long sleeved, ankle length tunics for kings, many tunics were split down the middle so they could ride horses. Trim: tablet weaving, hems on tunics. Hair: anglo saxons - mustaches, normands - short hair cuts. Dagging: trim on a garment cut into the garment, not attached, cut into the fabric, on tunics, sleeves, trousers, etc.
