Document Summary

Motherboard: the main system, where we connect all the system unit components. Thermal paste: goo usually found on top of cpus, allows a good heat conductor between cooling system and cpu. Expansion slots (or pcie) -> give flexibility to expand system specs. Front panel connectors -> allows a button outside the system unit to turn off, restart, reset computer. Recognize the position and shape of power supply and video cards. Recognize the function of core components (like ram sticks, cpu, m. 2 ssds) M. 2 ssd: where data is stored statically. Hard drive: spinning platters, they only store data. When you open a program, the cpu makes a copy of the program saved on the storage and copies it to the ram. When programs are running, it is stored in the ram. When you want to save data, the cpu will copy the data running in the ram, so that it can be saved on the cpu.
