● Anthropology in history and the explanation of cultural diversity.
○ Chinese scientific thought focused on the five elements:

important not in and for themselves but rather because they amplified living,
primitive cultures that had once existed in prehistoric Europe.

○ Capitalism: an economic system dominated by a supply and demand market

under its control

sovereignty.
