When slavery ended in 1865, they left their homes to exercise their rights. Also left because the jobs were hard to find back home and there was more opportunity in america. Arrived by english ship, they were traded for food, and slavery. Stereotype names : black american, afro, coloreds, negro. Even tho slavery was banned by congress in 1808, it was still going on, there were ways around it. Today the live all over from america to africa. First wave was german and irish in 1820s. They had to go through a lot of test and stayed in the new. Viewed as not supposed to be here, and dirty people. They were forced to stay in the same place, almost like slaves.
