The view that the us is unique, because of our values and ideals. The connotation that we"re seen as the best, and we need to spread our ideals around the world. Many values relate back to our founding fathers. American exceptionalism in the news due to trump and his campaign, claiming that our original ideals have diminished, and they need to be restored. Exceptionalism has been a major facet of the republican party and its platforms. Clinton focuses on our strengths and values, and the importance to lead, not so much to reform and renew. Liberty life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness . The ability to pursue one"s own desires without interference form others. Negative liberty the idea that the government doesn"t intrude upon personal ability to act. Positive liberty the idea that the government should intrude, and supply people with the resources they need. Republic: a representative democracy representatives that we elect make the decisions.
