Referent power comes from followers" identification with the leader. The admired & respected nurse is able to influence other nurses because of their desire to emulate him/her. Expert power based on knowledge, skills, information. Ex: nurses who have expertise in areas such as physical assessment or technical skills or who keep up with information non important topics will gain respect from others. Information power based on a person"s possession of information that others need.
