Shift from building domestic markets to global comparative advantage. Manufacturing moved to peripheries where production costs cheaper. Globalization: period of the rise of neoliberalism. A rise of a specific kind of a global world. A political project to reestablish elite wealth: the process of anything public becoming privatized, de-regulation or getting rid of certain laws and policies. There is a different category of labor outside of the production level. "gender is a social construct and can be changed" Gender is relational as space is relational. There are connections in a global context. Domestic work is ignored and treated as if it weren"t qualified as work. From the story "mr moyo goes to the doctor" With climate change the diverse nature of work that get translated into "women"s work" Ex: women have to walk farther distances in south asia to get water for family.
