Constitutional court: a court exercising the judicial powers in article iii and its judges are given constitutional protection: can"t be fired, salaries can"t be reduced. Legislative court: set up by congress for some specialized purpose and its judges are not given constitutional protections. Party affects how judges behave, but not entirely. Facts of the case, prior rulings, arguments presented by lawyers, no reliable way of predicting how the judge will act. Sex, and race have become prominent factors in selecting judges.
