Document Summary

Organized knowledge structures that influence perception, memory, and behavior: way we group information. Our brains are set up to take in information, organize it with existing information, create new schemas, etc. There are schemas that we know a lot about, and there are schemas we know very little about. Different blood flow to your brain depending on what you"re thinking about. Red is connected to green, orange, yellow in a color schema, but red is also connected to fire engine, cherry, and rose. The more experience you have with something, the more complex your schema on that subject will be. If you get rewarded for organizing information in one way, you"ll stick to that organization, but if you"re punished for organizing information in one way, then you"ll try to change that organization. Through social comparison, we get influenced by other people. As a result, we might alter our schemas or generate our schemas based on a social comparison.
