Negative attitude towards sex during menstruation is not a biological case, but rather a learned negative response from culture. Emotional symptoms: depression, anxiety, tension, irritability, lack of concentration. Caused by an interaction between serotonin and hormones. Caffeine can worsen the symptoms, so avoid chocolate, coffee, and sodas: toxic shock syndrome (tss) Caused by toxin produced by certain bacterium. Rapid onset that can lead to death. Symptoms: high fever, vomiting, diarrhea, dizziness, low blood pressure, red rash. Bacterium thrives in tampons because of oxygen pockets, and lack of antibodies in the vagina. Number of cases increased exponentially when larger tampons were introduced to the market.
