**heritability = the proportion of variation among individuals that can attribute to genes. This means that experience does affect development, and the amount of which it does varies for everyone based on their situations. There is no battle between the two, but instead a great deal of teamwork. All differences between human individuals are the result of subtle and complex interactions between genetics and then environment. It is nature x nurture both are equally intertwined together in a complex web. Thresholds refer to the smallest level in which humans can detect various stimulus. There are two major sections and they are: absolute threshold, difference threshold. Absolute threshold = the minimum stimulus that is able to be detected 50% of the time. **signal detection theory = predicts how quickly we can detect stimuli among background stimuli (measured on an roc curve) Difference threshold = the minimum difference between two stimuli that is able to be detected 50% of the time.
