SPE 323 Lecture Notes - Lecture 7: Structural Analysis, List Of Bluetooth Profiles, Scatter Plot
Document Summary
Functional behavior assessment (fba): process that is used to understand why student does certain behaviors; includes whole set of assessment tools. Referrals for behavior problems can come from anyone. Get 3rd party data from ppl (parents, therapist, gen ed teacher, etc) that interact w student. Normative tests: standard for normalcy ; ex- behavior checklists. Ca60: student special ed file in k-12 system; only required to keep for 5 yrs. Target behavior: observable, measurable behavior you want to change. Hypothetis (if looking at consequent events) is best guess for what payoff kid gets. Actually watch kid do behavior in different settings. Figure out where to look for behavior (using scatterplot) Scatterplot: determines frequency of occurence so you know which areas to go observe student. Systematic observation data: event, interval (whole/partial), latency, perm product. Accessibility ratings: looking at social validity w/ staff. Evaluation of treatment effectiveness: use single case design. Setting event: outside setting/context where behavior and contingency occur.
