The object of the knowledge is a proposition: a proposition is whatever is expressed by a declarative sentence, propositions: the kinds of things with a truth value. What is required for propositional knowledge: truth, justi cation. The study of very basic issues about reality and our place in it that science is unsuited to answer: why is there anything at all.
