Percepts constructed to maximize pragnanz: want to experience/form representations that are symmetrical, simple, closed, and regular. Relied on introspection pragnanz in amodal completion. Amodal completion: our perception of contours/regions that. Complete a figure and are not part of the sensory input: ex. perceive something that isn"t there, ex. golden retriever gif where there are actually 2 dogs. Goal: to infer the structure of the external world from the information available to our senses.
