Luxurious baths of modern romans vs. the grittier baths of their ancestors. Contrasts baths of ancient legendary figure vs. the modern. Drained by overflow and people would pee in the baths. Rich people could build baths or pay entrance for everyone. Socialized, made political connections, ate, erotic, physical exercise, etc . Went to the baths every day in the afternoon. The workday started early, siesta, bathing, dinner. Pay the fee and leave clothes in the changing room w/ the clothing guards: a trip to the baths, architecture and engineering. Heat circulates around pillars under the floor: nakedness. Some rich people hated being naked w/ poor b/c they don"t want. Attendants at baths rub you down w/ oil. Go out and do some exercise (every adult played ball games) Varied from region to region or establishment to establishment.
