There are three things extremely hard, steel, a diamond and to know one"s self benjamin. We are the center of our social worlds. We are very focused on our selves as we live our lives. Spotlight effect (gilovich et al 2000) they idea other people are paying attention to us more that they really are. Even though people do notice us, they do not notice things as much as we think. Because they are focusing on their own selves. Generally, the idea that we are more important than we think we are. Study of gilovich: students wear shirts that were embarrassing. They tried to assess how many people actually notice the shirts vs. how many people notice the shirts according to the people wearing the shirt. Illusion of transparency illusion that our concealed emotions leak out and can be easily read by other people (who can tell how we are feeling by our body language and face).
