Document Summary
After puberty, men tend to have more muscular strength. Males are more vulnerable to mortality, however; this starts prenatally. Indirect aggression: covert, damage a person"s standing in a social group. Equal amount in childhood, slightly more used by females later on but the difference is slight. Aggression: motivated by desire to harm someone. Assertiveness: confident, self-assured, stands up for themselves. Women who are asserted are often accused of being aggressive. Females have higher self-esteem regarding behavioral conduct and morals/ethics than males. Males have higher self-esteem regarding physical appearance, athletics, and personal self. All other areas (i. e. family/academics) are equal levels. The differences are fairly small but they are an international trend. After age 12, males perform better on math standardized tests. Those on the upper end of the distribution (gifted) tend to be male. Males do better of standardized, but girls have better math gpas. It is unclear if the gap is closing.
