Therapy: biomedical interventions designed only to help an individual or group of individuals. Research: studies or interventions intended to lead to generalizable scientific knowledge. Clinical type: the subjects of the study suffer from some illness or susceptibility that the experiment of the study aims to treat. (therapeutic component) Non clinical type: subjects of experiment do not directly benefit from the experiment. Clinical research like hiv drug trials see the subjects benefit from the experiment. Incomplete model: we know how bodies react to certain chemicals, but new stuff can"t be known without actual testing. Culture of cells: isolated tissue cultures will not allow you to understand the complexity of the way the culture interacts with the whole body.
