Stores pollen in sacs by its hind legs. Nectar takes 5 day to turn into honey. Pollen is stored later and then later mixed with the honey to feed the young. Dark pollen cells and lighter colored honey cells. The male drones medium size only job is to mate with the queen. The queen lays the egg for the next generation. Mates surround and follow her b/c of the sent. The queen returns and makes 2-3 more trips before she has enough sperm for 1-4 yrs. 1500 eggs every day, 200,000 in a year stops in the winter. Queens scent prevents the females from laying eggs. In 6 days the larva weight increases 15x. Almost every bee is a worker so almost all females only 100 are males out 10,000 total. Males are helped by midwife worker bees out and then feed immediately. Scots look for possible new location and some workers find more food.
